The Research Grants Council has approved $6.5 million to support 11 projects in the Public Policy Research Funding Scheme's fifth round of application.

The council's chairman Prof Roland Chin said he was confident the projects would have a substantial impact on Hong Kong's policy matters.

The council received 39 research project applications submitted by institutions funded by the University Grants Committee.

The funded projects cover public policy research areas including education, heathcare and finance. Details of the funded projects are available here.
