The Labour Department's youth employment resource centre will come into operation on December 20, offering one-stop advisory and support services on employment and self-employment to young people aged 15 to 29.
The Youth Employment Start - or Y.E.S. - centre helps young people enhance their employability, enables them to access the latest labour market information, and helps them secure a firm footing in the labour market for sustainable development.
"To cater for the distinct needs of youths, we have designed our services in a unique and innovative manner. The range of services and facilities at Y.E.S. include career assessment, career guidance, value-added training and self-employment support," Assistant Commissioner for Labour Byron Ng said.
"The target users are current and past trainees of the Youth Pre-employment Training Programme and Youth Work Experience & Training Scheme, school leavers, young job seekers, youth seeking alternative employment and self-employed youth," he added.
The centre is located at Suite 8-11, 42/F, Office Tower, Langham Place, 8 Arygle Street, Mongkok. Its opening hours are Mondays to Saturdays from 10am to 7pm.
