The Education Bureau has set up the Young Achievers' Gallery exhibition gallery to showcase students' successes in national and international competitions.
Speaking at the gallery's launch ceremony, Secretary for Education Michael Suen said students' overall quality has been on the rise in recent years. People should be proud of students' outstanding achievements in such areas as academics and creative art.
The gallery aims to praise students' performance and to pay tribute to parents and teachers who have supported and nurtured them. Students' achievements are grouped under seven domains including Arts, Design, Languages and Humanities, Mathematics, Sports, Science and Technology, and Thinking.
The main attractions of the exhibition include a 180-degree high-definition film and mini documentaries featuring the students, plus nteractive games and a database containing over 3,000 achievement records.
In the past six years, Hong Kong students have won 22 gold, 69 silver and 119 bronze medals in national and international mathematics and science competitions. One student was among the top five players in a world Go competition.
The gallery is located at the bureau's Kowloon Tong Education Services Centre. It will be open to the public from December 10. For enquiries, call 3698 3489 or click here.
