The Education Bureau has launched a publicity drive on the New Senior Secondary Academic Structure to pave way for its implementation in September 2009.
The package includes two sets of radio and television announcements, a booklet and a set of DVDs for parents, a new dedicated webpage, and seminars and exhibitions.
Principal Assistant Secretary for Education (Curriculum Development) Dr Chan Ka-ki said successful implementation of the new academic structure requires concerted efforts from the Government, schools and teachers and, more importantly, the support of parents.

New roles
The announcements will focus on parents' and teachers' roles under the new academic structure and how they should prepare their children and students for self-learning under the new curriculum.
The first announcement - Parents' Roles - will urge parents to be a good role model for their children, and enhance communication with schools. The second one - Teachers' Roles - will highlight the multiple roles played by teachers nowadays.
The New Senior Secondary School Information Network will be set up on the bureau's 334 web bulletin to provide easy access to information on new senior secondary curricula offered by schools.
To reach out to parents the bureau will organise seminars and exhibitions in the 2007-08 school year. The first roving exhibition will be held at Cityplaza, Taikoo Shing, November 2 to 4. Details on the seminars are available here.
