A total of 465 students have applied for the remaining 23 Secondary Six places through Central Allocation in Stage V of the S6 Admission Procedure, the Education & Manpower Bureau says.
The school places will be allocated on the basis of the applicants' Certificate of Education Examination results, their choices and the subject requirements of the schools chosen. For details click here.
Successful applicants should go in person to the school allocated for registration before 3.30pm on August 18, bringing along the original and copies of their Hong Kong Identity Card and their current year HKCEE Results Notice.
Application results will be uploaded on the bureau's website after 6pm on August 17 and will be posted in all Regional Education Offices at 9am the following day.
Other opportunities
Students who are still unable to secure an S6 place after the completion of Stage V may be able to get a place at the beginning of the new school year because some successful students may decide not to take up their places.
Vacancy information will be available on the bureau's website and at all Regional Education Offices throughout September. Applications should be made to these schools direct.
Students can also choose from a wide range of further studies opportunities, including Project Yi Jin, post-secondary programmes run by various institutions, the Youth Pre-employment Training Programme, the Youth Work Experience and Training Scheme, the Youth Self-employment Support Scheme and training places provided by the Vocational Training Council.
