Policy Address to tackle drug abuse

Donald Tsang attends consultation session
Student consultation: Chief Executive Donald Tsang garners young people's views on his upcoming Policy Address at Munsang College.
*

This year's Policy Address will tackle the financial turmoil, human swine flu and youth drug abuse, Chief Executive Donald Tsang says. It will also sum up the six supplementary new industries augmenting the Hong Kong economy's four pillar industries.

Speaking after holding a Policy Address consultation session with secondary school students today, Mr Tsang said after gathering community feedback he will start writing the address, but it will not deviate from his five-year plan laid out in 2007.

As the constitutional reform consultation will launch in the fourth quarter, the Policy Address will not carry extensive coverage on it, he added.

Nine hundred students attended the consultation session and Mr Tsang praised their keenness for political and economic affairs, and willingness to express their views and propose solutions.
