Voters must verify details ahead of village polls

*
Home Affairs Department

The Home Affairs Department is verifying the registration particulars of all registered electors to compile the provisional register of electors for the 2009 village representative election.

To ensure the accuracy of this year's final register of electors - to be published on or before October 20 - registered voters should report any changes to the electoral registration officer by September 23.

The department reminded all registered voters that, under the Village Representative Election Ordinance, a registered voter for an existing village must be a resident of that village and a Hong Kong permanent resident, and must have been a village resident for the three years immediately before the date of application for registration.

Call the village representative election hotline, 2152 1521, or click here for details.
