Poll info registration to close mid-April

*

People and organisations wanting to register or amend their particulars in this year's Electoral Affairs Commission registration cycle must apply by April 15.

Under the Particulars Relating to Candidates on Ballot Papers (Legislative Council & District Councils) Regulation, Legislative Council and District Council election or by-election candidates can apply to have their particulars printed on ballot papers.

The commission said although applications can be submitted any time, only those reached by the April 15 statutory deadline will be processed in time for the 2008 Legislative Council Election on September 7.

Applications submitted after the cut-off date will be dealt with in the 2009 registration cycle.

The commission will consider all applications in accordance with the law. Details of all successful applications will be gazetted and open to public inspection at the Registration & Electoral Office during office hours.

Application forms can be downloaded here. For enquiries call 2891 1001.
