The Marine Department will partake in the China Maritime exhibition at the Convention & Exhibition Centre March 12 to 14 to give key industry players and the public a better understanding of its role and services.

China Maritime is a significant international exhibition for the marine industry. Participants include government authorities, shipowners, ship operators and managers, and marine equipment manufacturers.

The department's booth will promote it as the competent authority for port operation, and highlight safety in Hong Kong waters and the high standard of ships registered in the city. It will cover the services provided by the Shipping Register, which has achieved substantial growth to become one of the top five shipping registries in the world.

The booth also features the new one-stop shop electronic business service which will accept online submission of documents required by Government departments for port formality application.
