Village poll registers ready for inspection
*

The 2007 provisional registers and omissions list for the Village Representative Elections is available for public inspection until September 23.

A full copy of the provisional registers and omissions list can be inspected at the Electoral Registration Officer's office at the Home Affairs Department, 30/F, Southorn Centre, 130 Hennessy Road, Wan Chai.

Voter particulars recorded in the Existing Villages register and the Indigenous Villages and Composite Indigenous Villages register will be available for public inspection. Particulars of people no longer eligible for registration as voters will be shown on the omissions list.

Relevant sections of the provisional registers and the omissions list can be inspected at the offices of Assistant Electoral Registration Officers at the respective New Territories District Offices.

Anyone who considers a person ineligible for registration or who should not be placed in a particular part of a register may lodge a notice of objection by 5pm on September 23.

Anyone who has applied for registration but whose name is not recorded in the provisional registers or is included in the omissions list; or has a claim to make about his or her particulars in the registers may lodge, in person, a notice of claim.

Those whose principal residential address is not in Hong Kong, may also submit their notice of claim by post, fax, electronic means, or through a person authorised by them in writing. Notices of claim must reach the registration officer not later than September 23.

For further details call 2152 1521 or visit the Village Representative Elections website.
