83 Justices of the Peace appointed
*

This year's appointments of Justices of the Peace have been gazetted, with 52 appointed as non-official Justice of the Peace and 31 as official ones.

 

The main function of Justices of Peace is to visit prisons, detention centres and other institutions to ensure their effective management and that no individual is unfairly treated or deprived of his or her rights. They may also be required by the Chief Executive to perform other duties.
