Two nominations for Tai Po by-election
*

Two nominations were received for the by-election in the Tai Po District Council Hong Lok Yuen constituency by the close of the nomination period today.

The two nominees are administrative consultant Tang Yau Fat, nominated on April 26, and professional engineer Ho Kwok Keung, nominated on May 5. Neither of them has a political affiliation.

The returning officer will rule on the validity of the nominees' candidature shortly. If both are deemed valid, voting will take place on June 10.

A briefing for candidates and their agents will be held at Tai Po District Council Secretariat Conference Room at 4/F, Tai Po Complex, 8 Heung Sze Wui Street, Tai Po, at 6pm on May 14.

Electoral Affairs Commission Chairman Justice Pang Kin-kee will chair the briefing and introduce the guidelines on election-related activities. An Independent Commission Against Corruption representative will also explain the Elections (Corrupt & Illegal Conduct) Ordinance.
