Construction Industry Council chief named
*

The Environment, Transport & Works Bureau has appointed Keith Kerr as chairman of the newly formed Construction Industry Council, made up of 21 industry participants and three public officers. All will serve a one-year term.

The council's role is to forge consensus on long-term strategic issues, convey industry needs and aspirations to the Government, and to solicit advice on all construction-related matters.

Mr Kerr said he is pleased and honoured to accept the appointment. He expects the council to promote self-regulation within the construction industry and to liaise with the Government.
