*

A 30-strong delegation led by Permanent Secretary for Health, Welfare & Food Carrie Yau will attend the 10th Anniversary Commemoration of the Fourth World Conference on Women to be held in Beijing from August 29 to September 1.

The conference aims to attract participants from around the world to exchange views on the theme "Towards Gender Equality and Common Development".

The Hong Kong delegation comprises representatives of the Women's Commission, the Equal Opportunities Commission, the Employees Retraining Board and a number of women's organisations and women-related social services agencies.

Bowen Leung, Director of the Office of the Hong Kong Government in Beijing, and related government departments' representatives will also join the delegation.

An "Exhibition on the Achievements in Women's Development in China in the Past Decade" will also be held on August 30 to September 4.

The Hong Kong Government will take part in this exhibition to showcase the achievements made in Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, the Government has published The Second Report of the Government of the HKSAR on the Implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action to report on the progress the Government has made in detail.
