*

The two-week nomination period for the Kwun Tong District Council King Tin Constituency by-election, to fill the vacated office of a member, will run September 8 to 21. A poll will be held October 23 if there is more than one candidate.

Any registered geographical constituency electors aged 21 and above who have lived in Hong Kong for the three years immediately before the nomination may be nominated.

Nominees must have the nomination form signed by at least 10 registered electors of the constituency, while an elector is allowed to sign only one nomination.

For details on nominations, potential candidates can visit this website. Enquiries can be made on the Election Hotline 2891 1001.

Early submission

The completed nomination form, together with an election deposit of $3,000, must be personally submitted to the returning officer within the nomination period.

Nomination forms can be obtained from the office of the Returning Officer, or from the Registration & Electoral Office at 10/F Harbour Centre, 25 Harbour Road, Wan Chai, or at 10/F Guardian House, 32 Oi Kwan Road, Wan Chai. They can also be downloaded here.

Details of the by-election, the appointment of the Returning Officer and the Assistant Returning Officer, and the appointment of the Nominations Advisory Committee were announced in the Government Gazette today.
