Trio named to Broadcasting Authority
*

Henry Tsang, Adrian Wong and Marina Wong have been named new members of the Broadcasting Authority for a two-year term starting September 1.

Three members - Carlye Tsui, Stella Lau Kun and Prof Leonard Cheng - have also been re-appointed for the same term.

Henry Tsang is managing director of an investment and financial firm, with experience in both investment and technology. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Applied Science & Technology Research Institute.

Adrian Wong is a solicitor who served on the Broadcast Authority's Code of Practice Committee from 1996 to 2002. He has been a member of the authority's Complaints Committee since 2002.

Marina Wong is a certified public accountant and member of the Consumer Council. She has also served on the Board of Directors of the Applied Research Council.

Secretary for Commerce, Industry & Technology John Tsang welcomed the appointments. He  said the new members' professional expertise and experience would enrich the Broadcast Authority's deliberation in handling the increasingly complex regulatory issues.

Mr Tsang also expressed gratitude to three outgoing members - Roger Luk, Felix Fong and John Lee - for their support and contributions.

"All three have offered valuable input to the Broadcasting Authority in handling a range of significant and complicated broadcasting issues. Their dedication to the authority has helped it discharge its duty in the most impartial and professional manner. I would like to thank them for their distinguished services to the authority," Mr Tsang said.

The three outgoing members will have served the authority for seven years when their term ends at the end of August. Mr Luk has been serving as its Complaints Committee Chairman, and Mr Fong as the Codes of Practice Committee Chairman.
