$5m granted for Mainland flood victims
*

A $5-million Disaster Relief Fund grant has been approved for the Red Cross' emergency efforts for flood victims in Chongqing, Guangxi, Guizhou and Xinjiang.

The move brings the total amount of grants for flood victims in Chongqing, Guangxi, Guizhou, Hunan, Sichuan and Xinjiang to $8 million. Two disbursements totalling $3 million were made last month.

To ensure the money is used correctly the Red Cross must submit evaluation reports and audited accounts after the relief project to the Disaster Relief Fund Advisory Committee.
