Election Committee final register published
*

The Election Committee final register is now available for public inspection from today. It contains the names of the 796 members of the Election Committee, which will elect a new Chief Executive on July 10.

Since four ex-officio members who have dual membership of the National People's Congress and the Legislative Council are entitled to only one vote, the maximum number of votes for the Chief Executive election is 796, the Registration & Electoral Office said.

The names of the 27 Election Committee members newly elected at the by-elections for 16 subsectors and the six members returned by supplementary nominations by religious bodies for the Religious Subsector are included in the register.

Polls for nine of the 16 subsectors, whose by-elections were contested, were held on May 1, and the election results were gazetted yesterday. The remaining seven subsectors had their candidates elected unopposed.

Hard copies of the final register are placed at the 18 District Offices and the Registration & Electoral Office at 10/F Harbour Centre, 25 Harbour Road and 10/F, Guardian House, 32 Oi Kwan Road, Wan Chai, for public inspection.
