The Housing, Planning & Lands Bureau has named Alan Leong and Howard Young non-executive directors of the board of the Urban Renewal Authority, and re-appointed Chan Kam-lam and Fred Li, for a period of two years from May 1.
Secretary for Housing, Planning & Lands Michael Suen said appointing the four legislators to the board will help enhance its representation and maintain a close link between the authority and the Legislative Council.
This will help the authority's work, especially in regard to its community engagement work. It will also safeguard its holistic and people-oriented approach to urban renewal, he said.
Mr Suen thanked two retiring non-executive directors, Ambrose Lau and Lau Ping-cheung, for their valuable contribution in the past four years.
