Gov't delegation visits Fujian

*

Deputy Secretary for Constitutional Affairs Grace Lui is leading a Government delegation on a four-day visit to Fujian Province. The group will foster closer working relations and communication between the two governments, with a view to enhancing co-operation in the Pan-Pearl River Delta region.

This is the Government's fourth visit to the PPRD region. The first three visits to Hainan, Jiangxi and Sichuan provinces were held from December to February. The PPRD region includes nine provinces - Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Sichuan, Guizhou and Yunnan - and Hong Kong and Macau.

The delegation left Hong Kong today, and comprises representatives from the Constitutional Affairs Bureau and the Highways, Trade & Industry, Labour, Planning, and Intellectual Property Departments, along with the Office of the Government of the HKSAR in Beijing. A Trade Development Council representative is also taking part.
