Chief Executive Tung Chee Hwa has appointed Equal Opportunities Commission member Priscillia Wong as chairperson of the Appeal Board under the Betting Duty Ordinance, and four people as members.

The appointments came into effect on March 10 for two years.

Ms Wong, a practising barrister, is also a member of the Consumer Legal Action Fund management committee and HK Bar Association Special Committee on Overseas Admission.

The four board members are:

* accountant Cheung Chiu-fan;

* secondary school prinicipal Fung Man-wai; 

* Polytechnic University School of Accounting & Finance associate professor Lau Pui-king;and

* practising barrister Judy Tong.

The Appeal Board determines appeals lodged by licensees of authorised football betting and lotteries relating to licensing conditions variations, financial penalties and licence revocation.
