No dispute on patriots ruling HK: Donald Tsang

*

It is reasonable to have Hong Kong ruled by those who love the city and the Mainland, Chief Secretary for Administration Donald Tsang says, adding there is no dispute on this issue.

He called on people to stay open-minded and listen to the views of others when discussing such issues, to reach the best solution.

Speaking to the media after officiating at the opening of a seminar in Guangzhou today, Mr Tsang said the Central Government has recently talked on our long-term policy, which was set out in the 1980s.

He believes this can help us review the past and understand the present, and he stressed that no changes have been made to the policy so far.

Mr Tsang said discussion is a must for an open-minded city like Hong Kong.

Apart from the newly launched Constitutional Development website, issues concerning our constitutional development will also be published in newspapers to promote wider and more in-depth discussions in the community.
