Justice Woo reappointed election chief
*

The Chief Executive has reappointed Justice Woo Kwok-hing as Chairman of the Electoral Affairs Commission for a three-year term, from September 29.

He was first appointed in 1997.

The Government said that under his leadership, the commission has made important achievements in ensuring Hong Kong's elections are open, fair and honest.

His reappointment will retain his expertise and experience, and preserve the continuity of the commission's work.

Secretary for Constitutional Affairs Stephen Lam welcomed the reappointment.

"We look forward to working closely with the commission in organising upcoming elections," he said.

The District Council election will be held on November 23, while Legislative Council elections will be held in September next year.
