Wong Chung-ki's seat to be vacated

*

The Home Affairs Department will declare by notice in the Gazette this Friday that the office of Wong Chung-ki, an elected member of the Sham Shui Po District Council, has become vacant.

Wong was disqualified from holding office on May 16, after he was sentenced to four months prison, suspended for 18 months, at the Kwun Tong Magistracy after he admitted to an offence under the Summary Offences Ordinance.

An elected member is disqualified from holding office if they are convicted of an offence and sentenced to imprisonment of more than three months.
