Official endorsement: President Hu Jintao backs the Hong Kong Government's work in containing SARS.
*

Measures to boost the economic ties between Hong Kong and the Mainland will be introduced in June, President Hu Jintao says.

Speaking in Moscow, Mr Hu said the objective of the measures is to offer support and encouragement to Hong Kong.

Endorsing the Hong Kong Government's work in containing SARS, Mr Hu said Chief Executive Tung Chee Hwa has done a great job. He also welcomed the World Health Organisation's decision to lift its travel advisory against Hong Kong.

Calling on people to be united and well-prepared, Mr Hu said that Hong Kong will be able to minimise the adversity caused by SARS to its economy.
