To celebrate the Lunar New Year, people in Hong Kong buy festive food and goods, and enjoy a hearty reunion dinner with their families. However, there are many people in society who need our help.
Some volunteer agencies collect unsold or donated food from wet markets, restaurants and supermarkets. After thorough preparation and cooking, the food is given to people in need. While helping people, this can also avoid wasting food.
I hope all of you will have this sharing spirit, and offer love and warmth to those in need. Together we can celebrate a meaningful Lunar New Year.
We wish everyone in Hong Kong good health and great success in the Year of the Horse.
