Secretary for Education Eddie Ng attended the 6th Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC) Education Ministerial Meeting in Lima, Peru, yesterday.
The meeting, with the general theme of "Inclusive & Quality Education", opened this morning.
Education ministers and delegation heads of APEC economies discussed the right of students to access a quality education that satisfies their basic learning needs and integrates their cultural diversity, procuring the development of their full potential.
A day earlier Mr Ng met Head of the Australian delegation Adam Luckhurst, Head of the Indonesian delegation Totok Suprayitno, Head of the Vietnamese delegation Tran Anh Tuan, and the Minister of State, Ministry of Communications & Information & Ministry of Education of Singapore Dr Janil Puthucheary.
They discussed free and quality kindergarten education, vocational and professional education and training, and the Qualifications Framework.
