Secretary for Education Eddie Ng will depart on October 2 for Peru to attend the 6th Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation Education Ministerial Meeting.
In Lima, Mr Ng will visit Ricardo Palma University to meet and exchange views with its management and students.
Mr Ng will attend the APEC meeting on October 4 to 6 and give a thematic presentation on the latest developments of education in Hong Kong, in particular the initiatives of applied learning and business-school partnership as well as career and life planning education.
He will also attend bilateral meetings with education ministers of the APEC economies.
On his return trip, Mr Ng will fly to San Francisco on October 7 to discuss e-learning and innovation education with information technology personnel in Silicon Valley and meet Hong Kong students studying in local universities.
Under Secretary for Education Kevin Yeung will be the Acting Secretary for Education during Mr Ng's absence.
