The Office of the Chief Executive has rebutted an Apple Daily report, which alleges that the Chief Executive has considered asking the Commissioner of Police to step down to resolve the present crisis. It says the report is fabricated and the allegation totally unfounded.  

Hong Kong is facing challenges posed by the Occupy Central movement, but the Government and the Police are serving with one heart to govern in accordance with the law and to enforce the law impartially. The Hong Kong Government expresses deep regret over this fabricated report which could damage Hong Kong's stability, the statement from the office said.
