The Centre for Health Protection is monitoring five newly reported Middle East Respiratory Syndrome cases in Jordan, including two deaths.
The patients are two men and three women aged 10 months to 78. Two are associated with an outbreak in a hospital in Amman.
To date, 1,569 cases have been reported to the World Health Organisation, including at least 554 deaths.
The centre urged travellers taking part in the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca to be vigilant against MERS.
It also advised travel agents organising tours to the Middle East not to arrange camel rides and activities involving the animals, which may increase the risk of infection.
