Secretary for Food & Health Dr Ko Wing-man says the Government has identified several potential sites for isolating live poultry from the Mainland.
Speaking to reporters today, Dr Ko said it was difficult to find suitable sites with basic facilities to satisfy infection control requirements, to hold the poultry while test results for avian influenza are waiting confirmation.
He said the Government is actively looking for solutions, and will maintain communication with the trade, explain the situation's progress, and announce when a possible site is found.
