HK Games tickets available

April 22, 2013
The opening ceremony of the 4th Hong Kong Games will be held at Siu Sai Wan Sports Ground at 7pm on April 27 and a small number of free admission tickets are still available, the Leisure & Cultural Services Department says.

They are available at the 18 District Leisure Services Offices. Each person can obtain two tickets on a first-come, first-served basis.

The ceremony includes ceremonial proceedings, during which London 2012 Olympic Games gold medallists Wu Jing-yu (women's taekwondo) and Dong Dong (men's trampoline) will join local elite athletes to take part in the lighting of the games cauldron.

There are also cultural and entertainment programmes, including performances by the People's Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison and the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong, and a grand illusion show by acclaimed local magician Avon Lee. Local pop-singer Hacken Lee and girl groups As One and Super Gear will also join the show.

Those without tickets can watch the highlights of the ceremony broadcast on TVB-Jade channel between 10.30pm and 11.30pm on the same night.

The games this year will be held between April 27 and June 2. Over 3,000 athletes selected from the 18 districts will compete for their respective districts in the games, which includes eight sports: athletics, badminton, basketball, futsal, swimming, table tennis, tennis and volleyball.
