HK Games countdown starts

A countdown ceremony for the 4th Hong Kong Games, which will be held from April 27 to June 2, was held today at Olympian City 2.
 
Officiating at the ceremony, Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs Raymond Young said the games are a highlight of the Sport for All campaign, which will enhance public participation in sports and build a healthy society.
 
Over 3,000 athletes are gearing up to compete in eight sports, namely athletics, badminton, basketball, futsal, swimming, table tennis, tennis and volleyball. Preliminary competitions for some sports began on April 1.
 
Public participation activities include the Dynamic Moments Photo Contest, voting for My Favourite Sporty District and guessing the Overall Champion of the games.
 
The opening ceremony will be held at Siu Sai Wan Sports Ground on April 27. Free admission tickets will be available at District Leisure Services Offices from April 12.
