March 09, 2013
A 31-year-old man has been admitted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, suspected to have a novel coronavirus infection.
The patient, with good past health, fell ill on March 3 and developed a fever and headache since March 9. He was admitted to the hospital's isolation ward. His condition is stable.
He had travelled to Saudi Arabia from March 4 to 7.
His wife with no recent travel history fell ill on March 8. She is also isolated in hospital as a precautionary measure.
Their chest X-rays were clear. Laboratory test results are expected tomorrow.
No human novel coronavirus infection has been identified in Hong Kong so far.
