The Government has invited legislators to inspect the West Kowloon Station site of the Hong Kong Section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link.
Speaking to the media after attending a summit on the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area in Zhongshan today, Chief Secretary Matthew Cheung said the Government is ready to explain the rail's co-location plan to Legislative Council members and has invited them to the see the site.
He said the Government will conduct a comprehensive consultation on it before tabling its final plan with the National People’s Congress Standing Committee.
Noting the rail is essential to Hong Kong, Mr Cheung said he is optimistic the co-location arrangement can be endorsed by the Legislative Council.
