Chief Executive CY Leung says the Government will not re-launch the political reform debate, as it is time to refocus on livelihood and economic issues.
Mr Leung told reporters before an Executive Council meeting this morning, that it is the common wish of the Hong Kong people, the SAR Government and the Central Authorities to move on.
He noted that the SAR Government and Central Authorities have spent a great deal of effort on constitutional development in the past two years, adding that the SAR Government could not carry on spending this kind of effort on just one issue on its agenda.
"We should focus on other important areas that Hong Kong faces, including land development, housing, medical care, education and an ageing society," Mr Leung said.
