Chief Secretary Carrie Lam hopes lawmakers will have a frank and constructive dialogue with Central Government officials on Hong Kong's political reform when they meet in Shenzhen tomorrow.
Speaking to the media today, Mrs Lam revealed the detailed arrangements of the Shenzhen meeting.
The meeting, from 9am to 1pm, will have two sessions. The Mainland officials will meet all attending lawmakers in the first session, but only pan-democrats in the second.
Mainland officials attending the meeting are the State Council's Hong Kong & Macau Affairs Office Director Wang Guangya, HKSAR Basic Law Committee Chairman Li Fei, and director of the Central People's Government's Liaison Office in the HKSAR Zhang Xiaoming.
Noting that the two sides had three meetings last year but none since the pan-democrats decided to boycott the Government's consultation after the National People's Congress Standing Committee made the reform decision last August, Mrs Lam urged the lawmakers to treasure the chance to have a direct exchange with the Mainland officials.
