Secretary for Justice Rimsky Yuen says the Government will try its best to persuade pan-democrats to support the constitutional reform proposal to be submitted to the Legislative Council.
Mr Yuen told reporters today it is a difficult task to gain pan-democrat support, and he called on the public to voice their wish for universal suffrage.
He did not comment on the council chairman’s suggestion of resigning so he can vote for the proposal, saying it is up to him to decide.
