The Government is dealing with the pressure brought about by the rapid increase in Mainland tourists, Chief Executive CY Leung said today, urging the public to be patient.
Speaking before an Executive Council meeting, Mr Leung said the Government has reflected Hong Kong people’s views to the Central authorities, who also attach importance to the issue.
Noting that the tourist issue has caused a nuisance in various districts, he said Hong Kong people do not want to see protesters disturb visitors and businesses as they have in recent weeks.
Such acts damage Hong Kong’s business environment, he added, and warned Police will take resolute enforcement action against them.
