Chief Secretary Carrie Lam says the Government will listen carefully to political parties’ views and concerns on constitutional development, and strive to narrow differences.
Speaking to the media after meeting the Association for Democracy & People’s Livelihood today, Mrs Lam said both sides expressed a strong desire to achieve universal suffrage in selecting the Chief Executive in 2017, though attendees expressed concern about electoral arrangements.
Mrs Lam said the Government will continue to reach out and listen to political parties' views during the five-month consultation period.
