Secretary for Justice Rimsky Yuen says explanations about nomination procedures, as reported recently in the media, have only sought to explain that under Article 45, the power of nomination rests in the nominating committee.
Briefing reporters today, Mr Yuen refuted suggestions that such an explanation is like an ‘illegal structure’ on the Basic Law framework.
“There is no question of departing from Article 45 of the Basic Law,” he said.
