Playgrounds

Come visit Sai Tso Wan Recreation Ground!

Getting bored at home and want to show your athletic talent on a beautiful grass pitch? Be sure to visit the Sai Tso Wan Recreation Ground which opens on April 30.

Covering an area of about two hectares, the recreation ground is located on Sin Fat Road, next to Lam Tin MTR Station.

It has a grass pitch for soccer and baseball, two batting cages for practising baseball, a play area, a jogging track and other fun facilities.

The grass pitch provides a standard baseball field for the National Squad training of the Hong Kong Baseball Association.

There is also an environmental gallery in the Recreation Ground to give visitors a better understanding of waste management in Hong Kong.

It is the first permanent recreational facility built on a restored landfill in Hong Kong.

To prevent environmental pollution and ensure the site was safe for public use, pollution control facilities have been installed at the landfill.

The grass pitch will be open from 8am to 10.30pm daily, and the batting cages for practising baseball and other facilities from 7am to 11pm.

Want to make bookings? Call 2927 8080 or use the on-line booking service at www.esd.gov.hk.
