Man charged with two counts of murder

Police today laid holding charges against a 42-year-old man for two counts of murder and three counts of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

 

The man was arrested in connection with killing two people and wounding three others at Kwai Shing East Estate yesterday. He will appear at Tsuen Wan Magistrates' Courts tomorrow morning.

 

At about 11.20am yesterday, Police received reports that the man was attacking others with a knife. Police officers located three injured women at Shing Kwok House and two injured men inside the management office on the ground floor of Shing On House. 

 

The attacker was arrested outside Shing On House. The five injured people were sent to hospitals. A 35-year-old male estate management office staff and a 56-year-old female resident were certified dead at Princess Margaret Hospital.

 

The other three injured, including a 32-year-old male estate management office staff, a 50-year-old female security guard and a 58-year-old female resident, were being treated in hospitals.
