Correctional institutions to be renamed
*
Correctional Services Department

Ma Po Ping Prison and the Tong Fuk Centre will be merged to become the Tong Fuk Correctional Institution, the Correctional Services Department says. Hei Ling Chau Addiction Treatment Centre will also be renamed Nei Kwu Correctional Institution.

The changes will take effect tomorrow.

Although Ma Po Ping Prison and the Tong Fuk Centre are separate institutions, they have been sharing the same entrance and some facilities. Their management and operation are also linked.

To relocate resources and enhance treatment services, part of Hei Ling Chau Addiction Treatment Centre's accommodation for women prisoners will change to drug addiction inmates.
