The Monetary Authority today issued an alert on fraudulent website www.hkboc.net, which looks similar to the official Bank of China (HK) site.
The bank has clarified it has no connection with the fake site and reported the case to Police.
Anyone who has provided personal information to the website or conducted financial transactions through it should contact the bank on 2332 3328 or Police on 2860 5012.
