Wong Tai Sin assault reclassified as murder

Police have reclassified a Wong Tai Sin wounding as murder as a 15-year-old victim has died.

 

Five boys, aged 14 to 17, were assaulted by another group of males outside Lung Chi House in Lower Wong Tai Sin Estate at 12.15am Friday. Four mobile phones worth $5,000 were stolen.

 

Police later arrested five males, aged 13 to 21, for wounding and theft. They have been released on bail.

 

The victims were sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital. A boy who sustained serious injuries to his abdomen died today. A post-mortem examination will be conducted.

 

Witnesses should call Police on 2767 1461.
