Mong Kok wounding reclassified as murder
*
Hong Kong Police

Police have reclassified a Mong Kok wounding case as murder after the death of a 65-year-old male security guard.

At about 3.45pm on December 9, a 31-year-old man entered a building on Tung Choi Street to distribute leaflets. The security guard stopped him when he tried to leave.

The man pushed the security guard to the ground, and then allegedly kicked him in the head. The security guard was sent to Kwong Wah Hospital where he was certified dead at 8.31am yesterday. A post-mortem examination will be conducted later.

The 31-year-old man was arrested in Mong Kok on December 15 and charged with wounding. Legal advice is being sought from Department of Justice and he will re-appear at Kowloon City Magistracy on January 21.

Witnesses should contact Police at 2398 6277 or 2398 6276.
