A $300,000 reward has been offered for information on a case in which a bottle containing corrosive fluid was thrown from a Causeway Bay building December 12.

About 10.07pm that day Police received a report the bottle had been thrown from the building at 541-543 Lockhart Road.

The bottle contained corrosive fluid which splashed on to pedestrians after hitting an advertising signboard. A man and five women, aged 18 to 27, suffered chemical burns.

Police have classified the case as throwing corrosive fluid with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

The reward is valid for six months and will be paid to anyone offering information leading to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible.

Information can be sent to any police station, or by mail to GPO Box 999, or by fax to 2200 4518. People with information can also call 6643 7068, or email crimeinformation@police.gov.hk.
