Justice matters: Secretary for Justice Wong Yan Lung meets Vietnam Minister of Justice Ha Hung Cuong in Hanoi.

Secretary for Justice Wong Yan Lung is visiting Hanoi to promote Hong Kong as a regional dispute resolution centre and to attend the 6th ASEAN-China Prosecutors General Conference.

Starting his two-day visit today Mr Wong met Vietnam Minister of Justice Ha Hung Cuong and legal bodies including the Hanoi Bar Association and Vietnam Lawyers Federation, briefing them on Hong Kong's latest law situation and development in its premier legal services.

He also met senior representatives of two major foreign law firms to learn more about Vietnam's needs in legal services.

Tomorrow Mr Wong will address the conference and chair a discussion session. The conference is organised by the Vietnam Supreme People's Prosecution Office.

He will later visit Vietnam Prosecutor General Tran Quoc Vuong, and return to Hong Kong November 25.
