The Guangdong-Hong Kong Expert Group on the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights has agreed to boost co-operation to raise copyright awareness among the public and enterprises in Hong Kong and Guangdong.
The decision was made today in Guangzhou at the group's eighth meeting. It was announced the No Fakes Pledge scheme will be extended to Foshan, Zhongshan and Zhaoqing, the third batch of pilot cities in Guangdong.
Both sides agreed to continue organising the Guangdong-Hong Kong Seminar on Intellectual Property & Development of Small & Medium Enterprises in Guangdong.
The two jurisdictions, in collaboration with Macau, have produced a booklet providing enterprises and the public information on the intellectual property systems in the three places.
Other projects for 2009-10 include promoting the preparatory courses for the National Qualification Examination for Patent Agents in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, organising a seminar on amendment and implementation of the China Patent Law, facilitating exchanges on intellectual property exploitation and management by enterprises in creative industries, as well as strengthening business exchanges for intellectual property professionals.
